COACH MOHAMED EL SAKHAWY (Head Coach and Owner)

Coach Mohamed is an experienced fencing competitor, teacher, and referee who is knowledgeable in all three weapons: epee, foil, and saber.

A native of Alexandria, Egypt, Coach Mohamed began fencing at the age of 14. He earned a position on the Egyptian National Team and fenced professionally for seven years at national and international competitions.

Coach Mohamed taught in Alexandria as part of the Egyptian National Team and served as manager for his club. In 1995 he earned his Class A Epee referee status. He further developed his expertise by studying with the respected French master Mr. Parpino on referee skills for Epee and Saber. He holds a bachelors degree in history from Alexandria University.

Coach Mohamed moved to the United States in 1998. He and his family reside in North Richland Hills.

COACH VITALY BOKSINER

Coach Vitaly Boksiner

Coach Vitaly Boksiner, native of Lviv, Ukraine, started fencing in 1979. During his fencing career he won or placed in the top 3 in multiple national and international tournaments. He was several times selected as a member of the Ukraine Republican Team. Then in 1989, Vitaly was awarded the title of "Master od Sport USSR". From 1990 to 1992 Vitaly was coaching the Youth, Cadet, and Junior Olympic Reserve Sport School in his hometown.

After moving with his family to the United States in 1992, Vitaly was a member of the coaching staff at Lockheed Recreation Center and Fencing Institute of Texas. Many of Vitaly's students are highly rated foil fencers and nationally ranked on the USFA points standing list.

Vitaly is a competitive foil coach and developmental epee and saber coach.

   

COACH HOSSAM "HOSS" MAHMOUD

Coach Hossam Mahmoud

Coach Hossam is a native of Alexandria, Egypt. He began fencing at Alexandria Fencing Club when he started high school in 1975.

In 1978 he attended University of Alexandria and received his degree in Accounting. During the time he was a member of the Univeristy of Alexandria Fencing Team and represented the club at local, national, and international tournaments.

Coach Hoss began his coaching career in the US in 1992 at the Lone Star Fencing Club until 1998. In 1999 he fenced in the USFA National tournament in Charlotte, NC and progressed to the Top 8 in Division 1A in Men's Epee.

Coach Hoss began coaching at Gold Blade Fencing Center in 2006, where he is a Foil and Epee coach. He has been a great asset to GBFC with his outstanding skills and role model to the students.

Coach Hoss resides in Arlington with his wife and three wonderful kids.

   

COACH ALLAN CURRY

Coach Allan Curry

Coach Allan Curry first started fencing in 1982 at Texas A&M University. He fenced in college through 1988. After a 18 year hiatus he returned to fencing in 2006.

He is a rated referee in epee and has refereed at national events suchs as NACs and the Junior Olympics, as well as numerous local tournaments.

He has served as chair of the Southwest Section of the USFA since July 2009.

Allan is a developmental foil and epee coach and has been coaching at Gold Blade since 2008.
