We’re off to a GREAT year!!!

Be sure to say HI to all our new members and show them our great GBFC spirit and make them feel welcome.

XXXXXXXXXXX  REFEREE SEMINAR  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The following is very important for all fencers and parents of GBFC.

GBFC does not have ANY certified referees for Local, North Texas Division, or Southwest Sectional tournaments.

GBFC will be hosting a Referee Training Seminar March 23rd   4 – 9pm.

This seminar is very important for all fencers and for the parents to understand all the rules and activity on the strip during tournaments.

The seminar cost is $50.00

There is only one person approved to teach this seminar in our Division, National and International Referee Amgad Badawi, so please make every effort to attend (age 10 and up).

There will be a written exam at the end of the seminar and then you will be “observed” refereeing at a tournament (hopefully the Gold Blade Open that same weekend) to obtain referee certification.

I cannot stress how important it is that GBFC have certified referees to participate in the Local, Division, and Sectional Tournaments.

Certified referees earn $40 for local tournaments, $70 for Sectional tournaments, $100 plus airfare for National Events, and meals at all.
